LifePath Hospice’s Circle of Love Center and The Junior League of Tampa Host “Let it Shine Blue, Kids Grieve Too” Memorial Service

TAMPA, FL (November 18, 2015): On Thursday, November 19 at Water Works Park in downtown Tampa, LifePath Hospice’s Circle of Love Center and The Junior League of Tampa are hosting the second annual “Let it Shine Blue, Kids Grieve Too” memorial service in honor of National Children’s Grief Awareness Day. Event activities open at 6 p.m. with the program beginning at 7:00 p.m. To show support and help raise awareness about children’s grief, attendees are encouraged to wear blue.

LifePath Hospice Welcomes New Executive Director

Craig will manage operations and strategic business development for LifePath Hospice, which provides expert care and support services to more than 1,325 patients and their loved ones each day in Hillsborough County.

LifePath Hospice Hosts 24th Annual Island Night on Sunday November 15

TAMPA, FL (November 3, 2015): LifePath Hospice, an affiliate of Chapters Health System, will host its 24th Annual Island Night on Sunday, November 15. From 5 to 8:30 p.m., Jackson’s Bistro is the setting for the Big Kahuna Luau. Wear a grass skirt and get ready to sip tropical delights by the light of a tikki torch and at the same time sway your hula hips to the Jimmy Buffet and Beach Boys music played by The Landsharks Band.

HPH Hospice Kicks Off National Hospice and Palliative Care Month with Thrift Stores’ Recognition and Celebration Events

Hudson, FL (October 29, 2015): HPH Hospice, an affiliate of Chapters Health System, kicks off National Hospice and Palliative Care Month with recognition and celebration events for the volunteers at its thrift stores. The first event will take place on Wednesday, November 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the thrift store located at 6528 Massachusetts Avenue in New Port Richey and the second event will occur on Tuesday, November 10 from 3 to 4 p.m. at 4910 S. Allen Road in Zephyrhills.

LifePath Hospice One of 141 Hospices Selected Nationwide to Participate in the Medicare Care Choices Model

TAMPA, FL (July 24, 2015): LifePath Hospice, an affiliate of Chapters Health System, has been selected to participate in the Medicare Care Choices Model, announced by Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell. The model provides Medicare beneficiaries who qualify for coverage under the Medicare Hospice Benefit and dually eligible beneficiaries who qualify for the Medicaid Hospice Benefit the option to elect to receive supportive care services typically provided by hospice and continue to receive curative services at the same time. This announcement is part of a larger effort to transform our health care system to deliver better care, spend our dollars in a smarter way and put patients in the center of their care.

Dr. Gary McCarragher Named Medical Director at HPH Hospice

Hudson, FL (July 6, 2015): HPH Hospice, an affiliate of Chapters Health System, has named Dr. Gary McCarragher its Medical Director. For the past six years, Dr. McCarragher was a hospice physician with Hospice & Palliative Physicians Services in Hernando County. Born and raised in Montreal, Dr. McCarragher began his medical career as a gastroenterologist and was in private practice for 15 years with Hernando Gastroenterology Associates in Brooksville.

Good Shepherd Hospice Named 2015 Hospice Honors Recipient

LAKELAND, FL (May 5, 2015): Good Shepherd Hospice, an affiliate of Chapters Health System, was named a 2015 Hospice Honors recipient by Deyta, an industry leader in data-driven management. Hospice Honors is a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of satisfaction as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. The Hospice Honors recipients were announced at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s annual Leadership and Management Conference held April 29–May 2 in National Harbor, MD.

HPH Hospice Hosts 22nd Annual Spring Children’s Camp

Brooksville, FL (March 3, 2015): The weekend of March 13 through 15, 20015 marks the 22nd annual spring children’s camp hosted by HPH Hospice. Children in sixth to 12th grade, who live in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus Counties and experienced the death of a loved one, attend the camp that emphasizes the development and building of trust, coping with and managing grief. Each and every year the camp takes place at the Lakewood Retreat in Brooksville.

HPH Hospice Offers Free Memory Screenings

On Thursday and Friday, March 19 and 20, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., HPH Hospice is offering free 30-minute memory screenings for adults 50 and older who are concerned about memory loss. All screenings will take place on the “Memory Bus,” which will be on campus for these 2 days only.

LifePath Hospice Hosts 4th Annual Fashion Show Luncheon and Boutique

TAMPA, FL (February 12, 2015): With a timeless black and white theme this year, LifePath Hospice hosts the 4th annual fashion show luncheon and boutique on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Bell Shoals Baptist Church Special Events Center. For the fourth year in a row, WFLA Anchor Gayle Sierens will be the celebrity emcee of the event. All proceeds are earmarked for LifePath Hospice programs and services benefiting patients and families in Hillsborough County.

Chapters Health System and HPH Hospice Announce Finalized Affiliation Agreement

TAMPA, FL (February 2, 2015): Chapters Health System and HPH Hospice jointly announce today the signing of finalized affiliation agreement. Chapters Health is a not-for-profit hospice organization headquartered in Temple Terrace, with current affiliates that include LifePath Hospice in Hillsborough County and Good Shepherd Hospice in Polk, Highlands and Hardee counties. HPH is a not-for-profit provider of hospice and other end-of-life services serving residents living in Hernando, Pasco and Citrus counties. HPH also provides home health services in Pasco and Pinellas counties. With this agreement and a staff of 1,634 and 2,455 volunteers, Chapters Health and its affiliates now combine to annually provide care to more than 16,000 Floridians residing in seven Florida counties with an average daily census of 2,349.
