Common questions about our PACE services.
Facing issues that come with advancing age and illness is stressful for seniors and their caregivers. We are here to help you. To guide you through the journey, our experts are on call and eager to share their knowledge. We’ve listed frequently asked questions below, but feel free to contact us at any time to speak with a member of our Chapters Health PACE team.
Q. Do I have to live in a nursing home in order to participate in the PACE program.
A. No. You must be certified by the state to be eligible for nursing home care. However, you do not have to live in a nursing home. In fact, only about 7 percent of PACE participants nationally reside in nursing homes. For more information on our enrollment requirements, click here.
Q. Can I stop participating in the PACE program at any time.
A. Yes. The program is voluntary, and you can decide if and when you’d like to discontinue participating.
Q. How do I know if I’m certified by the state to need nursing home care?
A. Our intake and medical staff will perform an assessment during the enrollment process and submit it to the local CARES office (a division of The Department of Elder Affairs), which will determine clinical eligibility.
Q. How do I get to and from the PACE Center?
A. We provide transportation to and from the center as well as transportation to your medical appointments in the community.
Q. Does the PACE Center accommodate special diets?
A. Yes. Meals and snacks are provided throughout the day at the PACE center, and special diets are easily accommodated.
